Last weekend, I attended MojoCon, a conference about mobile journalism run by RTE, Ireland’s main television network. This year, the conference was held in the beautiful city of Galway, Ireland.
During the conference, I met up with a number of talented iPhone photographers including Brendan O Se, Nicki Fitz-Gerald, Paul Moore, Dan Rubin, Sir Cam, and Tim Bingham.
The conference saw many workshops, discussions and fringe events being held, these included the official opening of the MoboPhotoFest exhibition as well as a photowalk lead by Brendan, Nicki, Paul and myself. The photo walk saw an intrepid group of about 50 mobile photographers walk through the lively streets of Galway, documenting it at night. Saturday afternoon saw another photowalk take place, this time hosted by Zeiss ExoLens.
For this week’s showcase of mobile photography I have curated a selection of photography taken during the Mojocon event and the usual #mojocononthestreet hashtag. I think this week’s selection of images captures a varied glimpse of the weekend through some stunning examples of mobile photography.

I really like the untitled one by Paul Moore and the “Watching the Sunset” by Sir Cam.
The first, because of the movement in the picture and how the face of the bearded man sticks out.
Would you mind telling me how you got the depth of field? Is it just post or really done with the phone’s camera? (I guess an iPhone 7 plus could do this now).
The latter because it’s such a good portrait of our photography-situation right now – whenever there is something to see (like a sunset) people flock to it and pull-out their mobile phones.
Thanks for sharing these!
Agreed, Paul’s photo is a cracker and as for Sir Cam’s we had a laugh shooting those. Looks like a band album cover.
