Waterfowl…

Mobiography Photo Challenge: 13 Wonderful Water Inspired Smartphone Photos 1

‘Waterfowl…’ by @camhaynes22 – “This is a case of looking at things differently. My photo is flipped and looks different to me now compared to what I originally captured it.

I went out that day to capture raindrops on leaves. I was lucky and the light is just right. My eye was attracted by the colour abstractions inside this larger drop. I didn’t really pay much attention to the tiny drop tucked in the curly tip of the leaf until looking through my gallery later. That’s when I realized that when I flipped the photo I saw a sleek bird’s head with a water drop dangling from its crooked beak. Tada! new photo!

Photographed and edited on Samsung Galaxy S7 (no flash, no tripod). Minimally edited with SnapSeed. I never recall the specific edits I might have made. It just happens. But, in this case, I know it was flipped.”

‘Untitled’ by @harnaka_harto – “Telaga menjer is a lake that located at dieng plateau, central java island, at 1,300 meters above sea level. It has average 45 meters depth.

This lake was formed because of the volcanic eruption of Mount Pakujawa, hidden among the hills that surround this lake. It is very beautiful to capture this lake from one of the hill, or we can approach down to the lake, at any times. Mostly the photographer love to captured photo during sunrise, so we can get a beautiful photo with sunrise as background, blue color of the lake, and some beautiful clouds form decorate the picture.”

‘bayside of Island Beach State Park’ by @jschack1818 – “I took this photo at the end of summer, and I had brought my girlfriend to take pictures of the sunset. This spot holds a special place in my life, as I have been coming here since I can remember fishing and crabbing. Now, as an adult taking awesome sunrise and sunset photos there. And now I get to share it with someone special.”

Gwynver Beach

‘Gwynver Beach’ by @sunflowerof21 – “I took this photo on my iPhone 11 Pro Max on a very quiet beach in Cornwall, UK. I had been walking slowly behind my husband and son to get a few shots and was very happy when they stopped momentarily to chat at the water’s edge. It gave me just enough time to get slightly lower and capture this.

I edited the photo in Hipstamatic (Beard/Irom 2000), muting the colours slightly to enhance the quiet and calm of the moment. I used the brush tool in Snapseed to bring the saturation back up slightly in small sections of the water.”

Svanesjøen

‘Svanesjøen’ by @trudebergh – “I see these couple of swans quite often when I’m walking my dog. I took this photo in color on a foggy white day and first edited it on my iPhone, I then made it black and white, then blurred the background a bit. When I posted it, I used the crema filter because the movement in the water looked better. I had zoomed and cropped a bit and was lucky I think!”

View from River Coupall

‘View from River Coupall’ by @zipposphotos – “I was at a wedding in Glencoe, Scotland and went for a walk in a lull between the storms! I was surprised to come upon this iconic scene just off the road to Glen Etive. Was glad I had my walking boots on so I could negotiate between the mud and pools of rainwater, trying out different compositions from the riverbank. I find the long exposure effect on the iPhone to be very helpful on occasions like this. Plus a little help from Snapseed afterwards.”

Art in nature

‘Art in nature’ by @prajwal.photos – “I took this photograph on my iPhone 13 Pro’s telephoto lens at a lake near my home in Kolhapur, India. It was a cold and foggy winter morning. During shooting scenes of winter, I search for isolated subjects which stand out because of the fog. In this image we can see layers of contrast in the tree branches, the reflection in the lake and a little cormorant.

I have used Lightroom app to add a graduated layer to direct the viewer towards the subject. Also adjusted white balance to intensify the cooler tone and slightly bumped up the shadows.”
