Following on from last years successful ’24 Mobile Photographers Til Christmas’ series and to celebrate the forthcoming festive season and another year in the timeline of Mobiography I have decided to repeat the series and showcase the work, thoughts and insights of 24 talented mobile photographers. Each featured photographer has inspired and supported me in one way or another during the course of the past 2 years and I will be asking them to offer an insight into their photography, to reflect on their year gone by or plans for the coming year ahead.
Each day until Christmas Eve we will be featuring one photographer in a sort of online advent calendar so to speak.
Today’s featured photographer is Erika Carrillo
The Photo I am Most Proud of is…
My choice would definitely have to be my piece “Right Place, Right Time”, winner of the 2nd Place Nature genre of the IPPA 2014 Awards and winner of the yearly selection for cover on the magazine Frisco Style August 2014.
I am not only proud of the awards on this piece but truly believe its merit came about the fact this was the first photo taken when we moved back to Texas. Thanks to my husband driving down the open road leading to our new residence he insistent on stopping to take pictures of flock of birds which seemed to be dancing in the cold winter evening. I reluctantly accepted to stop even though it was cold outside and took several shots of sacrifice which all ended in superb pieces needing few if any touch ups to accent the deep colors of a beautiful dusk Texas evening.
The golden hues are the reflection of the sun setting and darkness of the field undertones the arid winter of north Texas yet supporting local vibrant wildlife present year round. Yet during this time of winter they come together in a ritual manner displaying they congregational flight to all who wish to enjoy a moment in time or to in the “Right Place, Right Time”.
