Rainbows and Greenery

the czar you know - Mobiography Photo Challenge: 14 Beautifully Smartphone Photos of The One's That We Love

Rainbows and Greenery‘ by @the_czar_you_know – “My cousin’s sister had come down for the summer and it was a lovely sunny day. She picked out a lovely rainbow dress and it was then I got an idea to do a small shoot, as she loves to pose even though she is just eight.

As this year the summer was very harsh, I wanted to take a photo that would have a warm hue yet give you a cool comfortable feel to the eyes. It wasn’t long before I decided to match her dress with the GREEN flora in my garden. I quickly positioned her amidst the green bushes and took this picture with a soft Bokeh effect.

Photo was taken on my smartphone and edited using Snapseed.”

Untitled‘ by @hd_ally69 – “This isolated bench in a forest not far from our home has provided me the location of my most treasured photos of my children. I have taken the same photo for the past ten years and they document how they have grown and the love and friendship they share. It is lovely to think that maybe one day the photo can expand and include family of their own.

It was shot with an iPhone 8plus and edited on Snapseed.”

Love you mom

Love you mom‘ by @danrtd – “This photo is of me holding my mother’s hand who is now under treatment in hospital due to sickness. She is now 88 years old and heading to 89 years old this year. As her son and as a photography enthusiast, taking this photo is one of my way to show how much I love her. I took this photo using my iPhone 7 and edited it using Snapseed.”

Sibling love

Sibling love‘ by @rawsdeb – “This was taken on my iPhone XS of my two granddaughters. They are both very precious to me and live far away in Africa. So every moment I have with them is precious! This was of the first time big sister really held her new baby sister so it was a precious moment. It was edited in Snapseed and converted to bnw. ”

Love on the Rocks

rolysmith - Mobiography Photo Challenge: 14 Beautifully Smartphone Photos of The One's That We Love

Love on the Rocks‘ by @rolysmith – “You learn how to shoot people by shooting the ones you love and my only child, 8 year old Albie, suffers the most. I take an awful lot of pictures of him, until he protests. I am constantly drawn to the beach to swim and shoot, often with my boy. This photo was taken at South Beach, Fremantle, Western Australia. It is a dog beach with a wonderfully close community of swimmers who love dogs. I have pretty much devoted my Instagram to this small stretch of sand. Albie doesn’t yet swim in the ocean so if he’s not building sandcastles he’s leaping on the rocks with his sword at the ready. I love it: he’s practices balance and co-ordination and I try and catch his enthusiasm against a blue sky. It must be black and white so I used Snapseed to remove the colour, change it to 16:9 format to emphasis the rocks, a gentle vignette and the select tool to carefully brighten only Albie to draw the viewers eye to the important part of the picture, the joy of my son.”

Happy

Happy‘ by @oldhamjaz – “We love walking as a family. No Xbox, no TV. Our Easter Monday walk from home, up through bluebell woods, on to a large expanse of moorland and finishing up at a much loved local place called Beamsley Beacon. We walked for a good few hours. I always lag behind – hoping I’ll get a nice outline framed by sky. Taken on my iPhone using Hipstamatic. Edited with Snapseed. I used the curves section in tools to bring up the colours like this. Quite accidental, but I love the hues it has given. ”

Mimi and Bibsey

Chasread - Mobiography Photo Challenge: 14 Beautifully Smartphone Photos of The One's That We Love

Mimi and Bibsey‘ by @Chasread – “My mother stands at the door saying goodbye to her dear friend Bibsey after coffee together, one July morning just two years ago. They are both at the age (nearly 90) when each of their summertime visits might be the last chance they’ll have to visit with one another, so I felt lucky to witness this scene and luckier still to have my iPhone handy for a quick shot. Now, it looks like they will have another opportunity to catch up with each other over coffee in just a few short weeks – life is good!

Shot on iPhone 6s using the Blackie app, and cropped in Snapseed. ”

School’s Out for Summer

pastortwallace - Mobiography Photo Challenge: 14 Beautifully Smartphone Photos of The One's That We Love

School’s Out for Summer‘ by @pastortwallace – “When it’s your daughter’s last day of school you have to treat her. What better way to celebrate than a burger and fries at Steak and Shake? Liberty is always willing to help me out as a model but this was just one of those times together that I wanted to snap a memory.

My usual editing process is involved here with work on Lightroom and Snapseed. I found a VSCO filter that really flattered the red tones of the restaurant’s color theme. Does anyone notice the subtle competition present in this shot? ”

Untitled‘ by @stebelka – “Gaja drinks milk. The picture was made during dinner. My daughter Gaja drank milk from which the rays of the setting sun reflected, creating a blend and illuminating her face. The photo has been processed in the app Snapseed. I raised the contrast and added vignetting. ”
