The trees in the picture are very interesting, so I took a picture of them. I took the photo with a Sony Xperia 1 II smartphone, edited in the Lightroom Mobile application.”

One afternoon in Ijen

‘One afternoon in Ijen’ by @harnaka_harto – “This is a photo of dead tree in ijen with turquoise color of the craters. This place is one of the best sunrise point if we want to get a photo of ijen craters.

To get here, we had to climb up the volcano areas for around two or three hours. It’s located 2600m above sea level.

The combination of the dead tree, turqoise lake and sunrise in the back ground and sometimes the foggy cover at some parts make this place as an iconic point of landscape photography.

The surrounding scenery of ijen also very beautiful, with its complex of volcano, that surrounded by fern, pine trees, and some tropical woods, that also an exciting place, for the people who like trekking and climbing of mountain.

Ijen crater lake has a diameter of approximately 1km and is about 200 meters deep. The turquoise color of water in the lake happen because of the acidic water that consists of a mixture of hydrochloric and sulfuric acids and other dissolved metals. The colour of the lake is dependent on the volcanic activity below, the lake can change its colour from turquoise to green and even gray on occasions. ”

Into the trees

‘Into the trees’ by @maarten_lisboa – “Foggy days during summer time are a normal day in this beautiful forest of Sintra.

It provides this beautiful light and some locations in the forest are always on my list to explore.

As always captures in raw format so I can get some more out of it afterwards. Black and white works great with trees, probably my favorite subject when I decide to create some black and white posts. ”

Standing alone but not lonely…

‘Standing alone but not lonely…’ by @rosemarygamburg – “The photo was taken while we were playing golf at Cimarron Golf course in Palm Springs, California. I find that golf courses have such beautiful vistas and landscapes that they are super places to inspire my photography. This photo was taken in 2016 with my iPhone 6! What inspired me for this shot was the lone tree, balanced by the mountain, opposite the tree. There was a hazy in the distant mountains that produced a beautiful background for the tree. The light created a beautiful silhouette against the big sky. I decided to edit it in black and white to emphasize the shapes: silhouette of the tree and the mountains and to avoid any visual competition between the subject of the tree and the colors in the sky and foreground of green grass. I converted it to black and white in the native camera and used iColorama Effect/ De-noise and Style/edges to slightly emphasize and separate the mid-ground from the foreground and background. ”

Stephen

‘Stephen’ by @sunflowerof21 – “This is an edit of an iPhone X photo I took of my husband diving into a pool while on holiday in Rhodes. I enjoyed being a little more creative using some of my favourite apps on this shot (it had been a while since I’d made time to do that). I wanted the final image to focus on my husband and the tree, so I cropped it and made some minor adjustments in Snapseed then used TouchRetouch to remove small distracting elements from the background and their reflections in the water. I replaced the sky with a colour block using Union app to make the figure and the tree pop. Finally I applied the Hipstamatic Dreamy film over the image. ”

Windblown Wonder

Mobiography Photo Challenge: 15 Stunning Tree Inspired Smartphone Photos 7

‘Windblown Wonder’ by @susanblanda – “The photo was shot in May of 2020 on an iPhone 10x. I edited it in Snapseed on my iPhone. It was shot at a particularly windy area of Dana Point Harbor. The trees and bushes around this area of the harbor are distorted looking as they have had to adapt to harsh ocean winds.

I love nature and find that many trees have a quiet presence that touch my heart. I admired this particular tree’s tenacity and its ability to thrive in a harsh environment. And the branches of this tree feel like visual poetry to me. Love the lines and the connection they present to the world. They teach us to persevere with grace and strength. ”
