The theme of last week’s Mobiography Photo Challenge was ‘Joy & Happiness’. For this challenge the Mobiography comunity was asked to share their best mobile photos that convey a sense of joy and happiness.

The theme of this weeks photo challenge is ‘Reflections’. For the challenge think about sharing your best mobile photos of reflections. Think about capturing the reflections you find in water, in windows, on shiny floor or in puddles. Think about using reflections to capture the beauty of a stunning landscape scene or the abstractness of layered reflections in glass.
To enter the challenge simply start sharing your best images on the theme of ‘Reflections’ that were taken and edited with a smartphone by using the hashtag #mobiography_171 on Instagram.

‘Panchikawatte’ by @the.r.a.b.b.i.t – “Panchikawatte is a neighbourhood in Colombo that is flagged with stores specialising and selling auto parts. The atmosphere here is flanked with a strong smell of fuel and the streets depict hardworking individuals earning their livelihoods. The happy chap portrayed in the picture is one of the many who owns a makeshift stall in the busy streets of Panchikawatte. He works all day and often through the nights. He greets all his clients cheerfully with a big smile and has not let hard labour get the better of his good nature. That is what inspired me to take his picture at this moment in time.
Shot on iPhone 8 Plus and edited on Snapseed. ”
The Story of A Balloon Salesman
‘The Story of A Balloon Salesman’ by @arashrimus – “This old man and his trusty bicycle are part of certain pages of the history that has been vanishing from our memories as well as from our cultures. These days online retailers and chainstores effortlessly sell thousands of happy and colorful balloons on day to day basis, but decades ago “balloon salesmen” would ride with their bicycles by going door to door in every neighbourhood selling balloons for the ones who wanted to add a pinch of happiness to their special occasions or for birthday celebrations.”

‘Never stop playing’ by @miakbh – “The photo is shot at Sjaellands Odde on the northwest coast of Zealand, Denmark. Taken on a playful winter’s day. Loads of jumping and fun in the snow. Lots of negative space to underline the minimal approach that I like so much. The yellow jacket attracts the eye and adds a little color to the image. ”
That aspen light above the desert
‘That aspen light above the desert’ by @allophile_ – “Back in October, I went up to the San Francisco Peaks — a group of extinct volcanoes that make up the highest mountains in Arizona, about a five hour drive from where I live. It is truly a world apart from the lower elevation deserts. Between 8000’ and 10,000’, there is a forest of aspen trees that morph into golden splendor in the fall. I’d just been sent the new iPhone 13 Pro to try out, and it was truly perfect for this hiking trip. This particular pair of hikers was waking away from me, into just the lit-up spot I’d been hoping they would — the light coming through the leaves was magic. Everyone on the trail was smiling, soaking it all up — a happy respite from so much negativity in the news and social media. It was a windy day, and that night an early season snowstorm blew through this forest; the day I took this photo ended up being the last day of peak autumn viewing for this year.
I took this with the iPhone 13 Pro’s native camera app, then used Snapseed for some cropping, a bit of exposure and contrast balancing, and some slight vignetting. ”

Ray of Sunshine
‘Ray of Sunshine’ by @jsmayores – “This photo wasa taken when our first born was around five months old. JM loves to smile and giggle a lot. We documented his happy moments especially during bath time and this particular photo stands out. My wife covered his face with the towel and I anticipated his happy gesture by focusing my iPhone 8+ at his face. As expected I was able to capture his cheerful pose with this shot. Our baby’s cross arm gesture complimented his smile creating a studio like photoshoot. I used the built in iPhone editing app and selected the black and white option for a more dramatic composition. ”
Girl power!!
‘Girl power!!’ by @rawsdeb_ru – “This was a picture taken of my daughter and granddaughter posing together on a boulder on the beach in Martha’s Vineyard while on holiday together. It was a fun day together and I thought it fit the theme showing a happy moment.
Edited in snapseed and shot on an iPhone 12 Pro Max. ”
