It’s that time of the week once more when Mobiography showcases a small selection of choice mobile and iphone photography from the past week’s submissions to the Mobiography Flickr Group. This weeks featured iPhoneographers include Sharon LuVisi, Mark T Simmons, Lola Mitchell, Damian Nowosadzki and Tracey Renehan.
A pier’s underbelly
‘A pier’s underbelly’ by Sharon LuVisi – “I’ve always been fascinated by piers, having shot many images of piers up and down the California coast. Although I’ve captured images from the underside of piers on several occasions, I had never photographed the area farthest from the ocean’s edge before. I decided to do just that underneath the Santa Barbara pier. While I was standing there photographing with my back to the ocean, however, I felt something very close behind me. I quickly spun around, only to discover that it was one of the pylons!”
Big Fish Eat The Little Fish
‘Big Fish Eat The Little Fish‘ by Mark T Simmons – “I work in Canary Wharf, what you could call the centre of finance within the city of London. A place where global corporate giants such as HSBC, Barclays and JP Morgan have their European HQ’s. On a very rare sunny lunch time I discovered this strip of light and shadow that was perfect as a background for a shot. After about 5 minutes of waiting, two men came past me and I knew they were just what I wanted to convey in this image. They moved with such an assured, almost arrogant, stride that people seemed to move out of their way. They owned this place and everyone needed to know. This is corporate culture: the big fish eat the little ones. It’s nothing personal, it’s just business.
I shot this using one of my favourite Hipstamatic combinations of John S lens and BlacKeys SuperGrain film and then used Snapseed to straighten the image and crop it slightly. ”
Photo
‘Photo‘ by Lola Mitchell – “This is a self portrait taken right after getting better from the flu. I felt trapped inside my house and felt like being surrounded by nature. I incorporated 3 photos, two puddle pictures, one with trees in the reflection and one with clouds, as well as a photo of ducks flying.
Apps used are native Iphone 5 camera, kitcam, snapseed, icolorama, procreate, superimpose, elasticam, image blender, luminance, photocopier.”
Looking at the sun
‘Looking at the sun’ by Damian Nowosadzki – “‘Looking at he sun’ is the story about human in big world, about his loneliness and genius. It was sunny day, the sky was absolutely clear. I was sitting in my car and waiting an Airport in Cracow for my brother.
In my photpgraphy the most important is human, and i still searching my way. Camera: ProCam. Apps: LensLight.”
