The past 12 months have been a fantastic journey. Along the way I have had the privilege of meeting many talented mobile photographers and have been inspired by so many more.
As we approach the festive season I thought it would be interesting to invite 24 mobile photographers who have inspired and supported me in one way or another and ask them to offer an insight into their photography, to reflect on their year gone by or plans for the coming year ahead.
Each day until Christmas Eve we will be featuring one photographer in a sort of online advent calendar so to speak.
Today’s featured photographer is Thomas Kakareko.
Thomas Kakareko is a mobile photographer from Berlin who captures candid street scenes and the characters within them. I have been a big fan of the work of Thomas Kakareko and his style of black and white street photography. Thomas has been featured in several of our Capturing the Moment showcases as well as the article ‘Top Mobile Photography Tips‘ and Issue 4 of the Mobiography iPhone Photography Magazine.
The Photo I am Most Proud of is…
Again I took so many photos during this year so it was very difficult for me to pick just one. Still I enjoyed going through my gallery and thinking of all the moments and feelings I was able to capture. I took this photo in Toulouse somewhere in September this year and it is a very special one for me. What fascinates me most about taking candid photos of strangers is the fact that I’m able to capture real emotions so I was blown away when I checked my camera roll and saw the expression of the man and his child. It was a moment of pure love and tenderness. Moments like this are the reason I fell in love with street photography and I can’t wait to capture more of these during next year.
