At last it’s Christmas Eve and the final instalment of this years ’24 Mobile Photographers Til Christmas’ series. Each day throughout December I have featured a mobile photographer who has inspired and supported me in one way or another during the course of the past two years. Each artist has offered an insight into their photography and chosen an image to support their reflection on the year gone by or the coming plans for the year ahead.

No advent calendar would be complete without an extra special surprise on Christmas Eve.

The extra special surprise photographer for today is Anna Cox of Grryo.

Anna is a super talented and passionate mobile photographer who has not only been very supportive of Mobiography but has become a very special friend. This is my small way of saying thank you, not only to Anna but to everyone who has taken art in this unique series of festive fun and inspiration.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very merry Christmas and a happy new year.

My biggest takeaway about mobile photography this year is…

Life is funny in the fact that it is ever changing. Just about the time you get comfortable where you are it throws you for a loop. My challenge for the last year has been finding time to shoot. I have been so wrapped up in Juxt/Grryo, the move back to kentucky, and being a full time caregiver that I rarely made time to practice my craft. Not too long ago, Todd Leban (pictrola) and I had a chat and challenged each other to make more time for ourselves. I have tried to carry that through and honestly feel more settled.

My lesson for this year is don’t lose sight of yourself through all the things you do. Stop and make time for yourself occasionally. You can better take care of those around you if you take care of yourself first.
