It has been another fantastic week in the Mobiography Flickr Group with a lot of really strong work being submitted. This weeks showcase features mobile photography from Gianluca Ricoveri, ShelSerkin, Mark T Simmons, Joanna Dunford and maktub77, to name but a few.

Untitled‘ by Gianluca Ricoveri – “The photo was taken at the botanical garden of Pisa, which is one of the oldest in The world. It is a small tub with water lilies in front of the main building. I was interested in reproducing the effect of the water lillies with the reflections of palm trees and buildings. The photo was taken with Hipstamatic, tuning done with Photogene, Snapseed, a passage with Pic Grunger and a texture in Laminar. Finally I touched up some parts of my picture using the Procreate’s Artist Crayons.”

Have Wheels – Will Travel

‘Have Wheels – Will Travel’ by Follow That Dream Photography – “I had gone to London to get some more travel images for my Royal Photographic Society Associateship panel and had changed lines at Bond Street to go up to St Johns Wood. As I was moving around the station, I saw this tunnel so took my iPhone out just to visualise a possible shot. The first one didn’t have anyone but as I reviewed the image this traveller came into view. I just liked the way he was moving along pulling his case on wheels, and all by himself – a scene which is probably replicated by so many throughout the London Underground network every day. ”

Rubio

Rubio by ShelSerkin

‘Rubio’ by ShelSerkin – “Captured on the R train in Brooklyn, Rubio train-sleeps like a true New Yorker, waking up just as the train was pulling into his station.

Shot with oggl, for which I am grateful to have snapped me out of my hipstamaitc rut and re-introduced me to a number of film and lenses which I had stopped using in favor of a few favorite combinations. The combination of Tinto 1884 and C-Type plate gives the shot a dreamlike feel, and is a combo I never would have thought to shoot in for this subject.”

Please Wait Outside While We Make Our Decision

Please Wait Outside While We Make Our Decision‘ by Mark T Simmons – “I have learned to love shooting at Canary Wharf. It is a place that is full of such tremendous shapes that are created by the architecture there and when the sun is out, the shadows that are cast are just perfect. It feels to me like a world from the future, as imagined in the 1970’s.

I had been wanting to create something with the columns in this image for a while and on my usual lunchtime stroll, I noticed a guy appearing very pensive, smoking and pacing back and forth as I was approaching. I knew instantly where I wanted him to be framed in this shot and fortunately for me, there was no one else around to distract from the scene I wanted to capture.

This is once again, an unedited Hipstamatic image using John S Lens and BlacKeys SuperGrain film. The title describes his appearance as I was approaching: that moment when we are awaiting a decision that can shape our immediate future and that decision is one that is never made by ourselves.”

As Life Goes By

‘As Life Goes By’ by Andy Butler – “This photograph was the result of a recent shopping trip on a busy Saturday afternoon. We were stood near the window of a shop and I was bored so I started to look for some photo opportunities to amuse myself.

As the sun streamed in through the window I was struck by the hussle and bussle of the street outside and wanted to try to capture this.

This photograph was taken with Oggl using Jane lens and Blackeys Supergrain film combination.”

Sun dial

‘Sun dial’ by Joanna Dunford – “This photo has a simple story to it. I was under the pier practising some long exposure with my SLR and I caught sight of the shadows and snapped it with my iPhone. That’s all it was. Just a moment in time that I wanted to remember.”

Just You & Me

‘Just You & Me’ by maktub77 – street dog – “This is a shot from a trip to Maastricht, Holland. One of the rules in street photography is be invisible and adapt yourself to the environment. When i left my house in Belgium three hours earlier, the weather was just awful so i dressed me accordingly. My thickest Barbour Jacket, leather boots, a hat,… That and over 1 meter 90 tall is all you need to be discovered if the local weather conditions are not the same. Impossible to photograph unrecognized. So i have to rethink my options. For this shot i saw this guy take a cigarette and instead to stand still to photograph him, i distracted him “can i have one too?” and while i went up to him i shoot from the hip one picture after another.”
