It’s time to kick off the start of another week with a showcase of the past week’s submissions to the Mobiography Flickr Group. Featured photographers this week include Mark T Simmons, Cedric Blanchon, Shel Serkin, William Reyes and Mohsen Chinehkesh.
Vincent
Vincent by Mark T Simmons – “My image Vincent came from two days spent in Amsterdam recently. It’s the classic ‘find a great backdrop and wait’ kind of image. When I saw this mural of Van Gogh with a bicycle parked perfectly in front of it, I knew I just had to wait for something great to happen. I took a number of shots but as soon as this woman passed and turned her head away, I knew it was the image I was looking for. His eyes follow her perfectly and her position does not conflict with the bicycle or disrupt the composition.
The image was shot with the classic black and white Hipstamatic combination of BlacKeys SuperGrain film and John S Lens. Snapseed was used to remove the border and bring out the tones on Vincent himself.”
Waiting for Nothing
Waiting for Nothing by Mohsen Chinehkesh – “Capturing mobile street portraits is one the newest missions I’ve given myself as a part of my mobile street photography career. My aim is to get as close as possible to the people without being noticed and capture their feelings in their natural mood. It needs a lot of patience indeed. Definitely people notice me when I get too close to them so first I have to behave in a way that makes them feel comfortable again. The key is to stay close to them until they lose their sensitivity about what I’m doing. Then I can start shooting but I still have to keep calm and stay unnoticed. This is not an easy task but it’s a lot of fun for me. Most of the time the first capture is not the best one, so I have to work the situation a little bit more. I do my best to get my desired result right out of the camera app. In this case I captured more than 10 photos till I got the best possible result.”

Viktor
Viktor by Shel Serkin – “Shot with an iphone 5 and oggl during a visit to the Carmel market in Tel Aviv.”
Untitled
Untitled by William Reyes – “The photograph was taked with the Iphone 4s using the app Oggl with John S and BlacKeys Supergrain one of my favorite combo in Hipstamatic.
The models name is Jesus, he is my brother in law. It was funny because he wants to be a model but in all of his photos he had a fake smile. Then I said: I’m going to take some real pictures of you… so please, change all your pathetic profile pics.”

Another great selection of images, Andy and congrats to all who’s images were selected. Always amazed by the quality of images selected.
Thanks for selecting “Vincent” for the showcase this week, Andy. An all square, all black and white showcase. Cool!
All square and all black and white! I hadn’t noticed that
Congratulations all. Beautiful showcase Andy.
Great selection as usual!
Thanks a lot Andy for choosing my photo! My second time and it is a true honor! Congrats all for this collection of fantastic shots!
Always a pleasure
