Oggl is an photo filter app that’s been attracting a lot of attention in the iPhone photography community for several weeks now. The photo app by Hipstamatic has so far only been avaialable by invite only. However, it has just been released to everyone, it’s free to download and now available in the Apple App Store.
Oggl is similar to the Hipstamatic camera app. It uses he same filters and lens combinations but has the added advantage of being able to apply the filter combinations afterwards, something that has been a drawback with the native Hipstamatic app.
Oggl also goes a step further by integrating social sharing and community features similar to other platforms like Instagram. I’ve been playing about with oggl for a few weeks now and finding it addictive. By default the app comes with a limited selection of lens and film filters but users can upgrade for $2.99 per quarter or $9.99 per year. This then offers full access to all films and lenses with new ones being regularly released.
