Foggy Lincoln West Common

Foggy Lincoln West Common‘ by Paul Brown – “The inspiration was the weather. I always say my aim is to create atmosphere rather than just capture a scene but when the scene already has all the atmosphere you could wish for how can you help yourself? I love the fog. It also gave me a chance to play with VSCOcam a little more – an app I don’t use enough but perfect in these atmospheric conditions I think.”

The White Fence

The White Fence‘ by David DeNagel – “The image was taken near my home, last year, on a late afternoon in October. It is a rural area and many individuals use fencing. In this case, it had just rained and the solid form and “whiteness” of the this fence contrasted dramatically with the bleak and hazy Autumn day.
For me,the fence had a striking visual nature; most fence lines are straight; but this fence, with its meandering yet purposeful diagonals, seemed to lead, resolutely, to some indistinct and unknown end. It was still a finite boundary but my shooting angle gave it a seemingly endless depth.
I used an iPhone 4s and I believe, Camera+. I processed the image in SwankoLab because I felt it would give me the unique look I wanted.”

Infinite possibilities

Infinite possibilities‘ by Anna Cox – “My son is 18 months old and has an insatiable appetite for adventure. We traveled to Galveston to catch the sunset last weekend. We had planned to just stay a few minutes but soon Liam was going through various stages of undress while playing in the water. I loved this image because he feels so small against the ocean and sky. The edit reflects my heart warming feelings about the day and about my boy.”

brasilia

brasilia‘ by Cadu Lemos – “Brasilia is considered a world asset in architecture, due to it’s intimate relationship with Oscar Niemeyer, the man behind the project. I used to live there in the 70’s and 80’s and was daily amazed by the impact the buildings had on me.
This building is a museum and was built after my departure (I live in Sao Paulo now) and this was the first time I had the opportunity to see it.
The image was processed with snapseed and pixlr.”

burning left hand‘ by lonestar_texas – “I’m was inspired by an oil painting and wanted to make a photo like an oil painting by using iPhone App. I used several iPhone Apps. For example PhotoViva, Image Blender, Distressed FX. There are four photo which multi exposed.”

levels of perception~ Shanghai

levels of perception~ Shanghai‘ by ~mimo~ – “Ever since I began using my iphone as a camera primarily and be surprised each time my camera rang, life has become a series of endless photographic opportunities. I live in Shanghai, a city of over 23 million people and when I see a scene that allows space, it feels so inviting to capture. I was walking down a usually very busy set of stairs in the midday sun when I realized that for once it felt empty. The lineup of people felt magical with the shadows and I knew it had to be photographed. I processed this in the phone using snapseed (an application from Nik software) and darkened it to bring out the drama of the shadows and the curves in the stairs. I gave it that title because I felt that mobile photography allows me to push the limits of my perception, every moment of every day and it opens my eyes to new ways of seeing the world around me.”
